Hello from the snowy Pacific Northwest! 9 inches on the ground as I type this. Yes, I know, for some of you it's no big deal, and for others its unimaginable. I'll put it this way, Seattle is the northern-most major city in the continental United States, and yet a half-inch can bring this place to a crawl. Nine inches qualifies as an "event".
Fortunately my wife, the Corgis and I are all safe, sound, and warm with nowhere to go for a couple of days. And yes, I stocked up on coffee beans prior to what many are (facetiously and not) referring to as the "snowpocalypse".
Onward...
It's a question for the ages -- at least recent ages: Windows alternatives. And the answer really, REALLY, depends on so many things that there's not really a single response. I mean, what does it really mean to be an alternative to Windows?
My new machine arrived, and the very first thing I did is probably exactly what you'd expect. The twist? It's probably not how you might expect I'd do it.
So much email. So much to delete! Deleting a lot without deleting all can be ... interesting.

That's a question I received not long ago. Particularly given the publicity around some of the issues with Windows 10 and its updates, I think many frustrated users are wondering if there isn't something else they could or should be using.

Two factors determine which it's going to be: your criteria for which emails you want to delete, and the capabilities of your email program.
While I can't show you what works in every email program or interface, I'll review a couple of common techniques that will make this easier. Those techniques are useful for more than just deleting email, and they work in arenas other than email as well.
