I'm not saying don't back up!
I'm saying use a better tool to do it.
Microsoft has a long and disappointing history when it comes to backing up. It's always puzzled me, given how critically important backing up is, but ... it is what it is.

Also this week
- Online petitions are mostly pointless, and even harmful.
- Deleting cookies is mostly pointless, but benign.
- NAS devices are cool, and a great way to repurpose an older machine.
- Contacts are easy(ish) to transfer between Hotmail/Outlook.com accounts.
As always, links below.

As always we share what's cool this week, as well as pointing you at a couple of the items we think are paritcularly relevant on our sites.
