Back it up first!

But what if you can't?

What if Windows or the hard disk or something else is so broken that you can't boot the machine to fire up your installed backup program?

How to Back Up a Machine That Won't Boot

Also this week:

  • System Resource Monitor is cool.
  • Proton VPN is cool.
  • Backing up encrypted data properly is important.

As always, links below.

TEH Podcast

Like the subject matter at hand, this episode is likely to generate strong opinions on way or another. We talk about ... Twitter, the controversy currently surrounding it, the alternatives, and the likelihood that those alternatives will kick in.

There's also new stuff from Apple, and we both lament the "should I upgrade" question we get constantly.

All that and more in TEH 174: Twitter, more Twitter and Apple Updates.

(Speaking of social media, I've updated my "link in bio" pages, both biz and personal, with links to all the places I'm currently monitoring. Start here and here.)

Take care,

Leo
