Rescue/Recovery/Repair/Emergency?

Rescue, Recovery, Repair, or Emergency?

If there's one thing that the tech industry is good at, it's confusing us with terminology. It's bad enough when two completely unrelated things are given the same name (lookin' at you, Outlook), but it's worse when the same set of terms get used repeatedly, and inconsistently, to mean the same thing, different things, or ... something else?

Rescue, Recovery, Repair, and Emergency disks, discs, or drives, fall squarely into that category. What each means depends on exactly who's using the term. They could be the same; they could be different.

This weeks featured article: What Exactly Is a Rescue/Recovery/Repair/Emergency Disc? tries to make some sense of the madness.
