Even your friends can't help you

Facebook is quietly removing a feature I've recommended you use: trusted contacts.

This feature allowed you to designate beforehand a number of trusted Facebook friends who could help you recover your account should it ever be needed.

While the feature still exists, for the time being, I wouldn't rely on it at all. It's time to do something different.

This week's featured article: Facebook Trusted Contacts is Going Away. Prepare Now. has more.

Also this week:

  • Bouncing email.
  • Identifying unrecognized windows.
  • Hacking accounts and the domino effect.

As always, links below.
