Confident Computing #838 - How to Back Up Before a Windows 10 Upgrade

This week's articles & videos

Windows Updates are significantly more stable, and less risky, than much of the tech press would lead you to believe.

But are they perfect? Of course not. It's still very wise to protect yourself in case something goes wrong. And hopefully you're already protected!

But, just in case, this weeks featured article -- How to Back Up Before a Windows 10 Upgrade -- will give you the what, where, why, and how.

Also this week:

  • Speaking of backing up: what program should you use? More than a recommendation, some things to think about as well.
  • Remote access: when it's safe it's convenient. Unfortunately when not safe, it can lead to disaster.
  • Have you ever thought about what you're allowing on your machine when you install a browser extension? You should.
  • If you want to permanently lose your account with no hope of recovery, I'll share the #1 way I see people doing it every day.
