I recently had a friend ask me about an email that looked kinda, sorta, legit, but their "spidey sense" was telling them to beware. They asked me to have a look.

Their sense was right. It was nothing but a big, 'ol phishing attempt. A good(ish) one, but phishing nonetheless.

I decided to discuss the things I looked at when I determined it was not legitimate, and share that with you so you can do the same.
