Even your friends can't help you
Facebook is quietly removing a feature I've recommended you use: trusted contacts.
This feature allowed you to designate beforehand a number of trusted Facebook friends who could help you recover your account should it ever be needed.
While the feature still exists, for the time being, I wouldn't rely on it at all. It's time to do something different.
This week's featured article: Facebook Trusted Contacts is Going Away. Prepare Now. has more.
Also this week:
- Bouncing email.
- Identifying unrecognized windows.
- Hacking accounts and the domino effect.
As always, links below.
Can you tell it's the summer? (Well, not from the weather around Seattle.) We ended up skipping this week.
Thanks for being here! Tell a friend!
