👍 #832 – How Do I Remove Malware from Windows 10 in 2020?

Confident Computing #832 - How Do I Remove Malware from Windows 10 in 2020?

This week's articles & videos

Our featured article this week is all about the steps needed to try and remove malware once you discover it's on your machine.

There are several approaches, each with increasing impact.

Note that I did say "try" to remove malware. Yes, there is a way to be 100% guaranteed its gone, but you're not going to like it.

Have I mentioned lately how much easier prevention is than the cure? Smile

Also this week:

  • It's getting to be that time of year again, and online shopping is on the minds of many. Is it safe? It's quite possibly safer than shopping in person (and not just because of some pandemic).
  • Making sure that Windows 10 is up to date is easier than ever, and more important than ever.
  • When it comes to slow computers, make sure you're fixing the right problem: sometimes it's not your computer at all.

TEH Podcast

As you've probably heard I'm taking a break from Facebook. After recording last week's TEH podcast Gary joined dozens of others who've responded to that news by asking me "Have you seen The Social Dilemma?". I had not. Until last week.

In this week's podcast Gary and I talk about it, some of the ways it concerned us, and just how big of an issue it all is. (You may want to watch the documentary before listening to what we have to say about it.)

That took up most of the show but we also snuck in a game and a podcast recommendation as well. All that in TEH 115: The Social Dilemma Dilemma From the Tech Side

Stay safe & healthy. Wear a mask. Be kinder ... we all need it.
